Our Story

Chainsaws For Jesus is a non-profit organization dedicated to sharing Jesus while sharpening chainsaws during natural disasters. Our team is committed to providing relief and support to communities affected by these events.  Our goal is to make a difference in these communities in a simple, yet practical way:  we sharpen much needed chainsaws and spread the message of Jesus during times of crisis.

Chainsaws For Jesus got started one night when God laid on the heart of Jon Christensen the need for chainsaws to be sharpened during the aftermath of natural disasters.  Jon didn't even know how to sharpen a chainsaw.  After research and sharing the idea with his men's group, the concept was mobilized into action at their first tornado in Amory, Mississippi in March 2023.  After the incredible response from emergency providers, utility power line employees, telecom providers and homeowners, Chainsaws For Jesus was launched.

If you have experienced one of these natural disasters then you are already aware that chainsaws are an essential tool to help with the cleanup of downed trees and debris.   In the midst of these disasters, finding the necessary parts, tools and sharpening of the chainsaws is almost impossible.  Our goal is to fill that gap by bringing and donating commonly needed replacement parts, provide basic maintenance and help sharpen chainsaws so they can go back into the field and assist with the cleanup.  While we provide these services, we share the love of Jesus and prayer to those we serve.  We do all of this at no charge as we feel that this is a unique opportunity to bless the community.

We are actively recruiting others to join our mission in anticipation of the next natural disaster.  If you are interested in joining us, or learning more, please contact us.
